About the role

Amber Implants, a forward-thinking medical device start-up, is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as an Industrialization and Supply Chain Manager. This crucial role will be central to managing our small-scale supply chain while spearheading the industrialization efforts necessary for our manufacturing scale-up.

What you will do

  1. Industrialization Project Leadership
    • Lead the planning and execution of industrialization projects, ensuring a smooth transition from low-volume to full-scale manufacturing.
    • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and quality assurance, to streamline processes and enhance production efficiency.
    • Oversee the implementation of new manufacturing technologies and processes to support scale-up objectives.
  2. Supply Chain Optimization:
    • Develop and implement strategies to optimize the supply chain, focusing on scalability, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
    • Identify and qualify new suppliers as needed, negotiating contracts and terms to meet the demands of a growing manufacturing operation.
    • Continuously assess and improve supply chain processes to enhance overall efficiency.
  3. Project Timeline and Budget Management:
    • Develop and manage project timelines, ensuring milestones are met within established deadlines.
    • Monitor project budgets, identifying and addressing potential cost overruns while maintaining a focus on efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  4. Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance:
    • Work closely with the quality team to ensure that manufacturing processes meet rigorous quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
    • Implement and maintain quality management systems to support the production of high-quality medical devices.
  5. Scaling Up Manufacturing Operations:
    • Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement strategies for scaling up manufacturing operations.
    • Assess production capacity, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to increase throughput while maintaining product quality.
  6. Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement:
    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for both industrialization projects and supply chain processes.
    • Analyse data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance overall performance.

You have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in managing industrialization projects and scaling up manufacturinG operations, preferably in the medical device industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality management systems and regulatory requirements in the medical device field.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to navigate the challenges of scaling production.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

About the company

Amber Implants is a fast-growing clinical-stage medical device start-up operating in the orthopedics and trauma field. We have created a novel spinal implant (VCFix Spinal System) for treating traumatic vertebral fractures in a minimally invasive approach. We have completed all preclinical testing of this product and started in-human clinical trials.  Amber Implants has a flat organizational structure composed of a young, ambitious, and rapidly expanding team, located in WTC, the Hague, with a modern atmosphere and an informal culture.
