About the role
Amber Implants is looking for a Supply Chain & Operations Manager to lead and coordinate our end-to-end supply chain in a lean, outsourced setup. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the smooth flow of products from suppliers and manufacturers to clinical sites and, soon, to commercial markets. You will balance strategy with hands-on execution—overseeing planning, procurement, logistics, customs, and vendor management—while ensuring compliance with ISO 13485, FDA QSR, and EU MDR. Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain and Supplier Management
- Develop and manage the end-to-end supply chain in a lean, outsourced setup.
- Build and manage relationships with contract manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers.
- Issue and follow up on purchase orders, track supplier invoices, and ensure accurate, timely deliveries.
- Monitor supplier performance through KPIs (on-time delivery, lead times, quality, cost) and drive continuous improvement.
- Manage and improve supply chain monitoring processes.
- Negotiate and establish OEM/private label supply agreements with partner companies whose products will be branded under Amber Implants’ name, ensuring quality, compliance, and commercial viability.
ERP Systems & Traceability
- Lead the selection, setup, and daily management of the ERP/MRP system.
- Ensure the ERP reflects supply chain flows (suppliers, POs, manufacturing, logistics, warehouses, hospitals/clinical sites).
- Work with 3PL providers to integrate warehousing and shipping data.
- Oversee UDI/device traceability across the supply chain.
- Collaborate with QA/RA to ensure ERP setup complies with ISO 13485, FDA UDI, and EU MDR traceability requirements.
- Support Finance with ERP integration for purchasing, invoicing, and cost tracking.
Logistics & Distribution
- Coordinate daily operations with 3PL partners for warehousing, transport, and distribution.
- Ensure full product traceability from supplier through manufacturing to hospitals and clinical sites.
- Manage import/export activities, including customs clearance and regulatory documentation, to guarantee compliant and timely deliveries.
Planning & Operations
- Implement and maintain efficient planning processes, including monthly S&OP an demand/supply planning.
- Translate clinical and commercial demand into production schedules, balancing cost, timelines, and risks.
- Track and report operational KPIs to management, ensuring clear visibility on supply, inventory, and logistics performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & New Products
- Collaborate with R&D, QA/RA, Finance, and Clinical teams on supply chain matters.
- Provide operational input to support new product introductions and regulatory submissions.
- Ensure supplier qualification, audits, and vendor documentation meet compliance standards.
- Design and manage supply chain strategies for new product introductions and clinical programs, establishing supplier agreements, logistics processes, and documentation for smooth scale-up to commercial supply.

Who We Need
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 4–8 years’ experience in supply chain/operations, preferably in medical devices or life sciences.
- Experience with outsourced manufacturing and international logistics.
- Familiarity with ISO 13485 and FDA QSR is strongly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage external partners.
- ERP/MRP and supply chain software knowledge is an advantage.

Amber Implants is a fast-growing, clinical-stage medical device start-up specializing in orthopaedics and trauma. Our flagship innovation—the VCFix Spinal System—offers a novel, minimally invasive solution for the treatment of traumatic vertebral fractures.
